Sanfangxiang Group, originated from a synthetic fiber plant with a collected fund of 1 million Yuan, has accumulated a completed industrial chain from the chemical fiber raw material to the final fabric products since 1984 when the dyeing plant, Dacron resin plant, chemical fiber cloth plant and chemical fiber textile plant were set up. Since 1990s with the early progress of China reform and opening, the Group has been following the tenet of “Scientific and innovative development”, upgrading by industrial reforming upon advanced technologies of the world and China famous colleges and scientific research institutes including Shanghai Jiao Tong University and CAS, supported by the own state level postdoctoral scientific research workstation and provincial engineering technological center to combine the informationization and industrialization and develop the brand and standard strategy in capital operation, and has finally stepped onto large scale technologically and industrially concentrated way of innovation. The group has successively founded over 20 economic entities including 2 state level high-tech enterprises, 4 provincial high-tech enterprises and 1 public company, and finally formed a large enterprise group integrated with the research, production and trade of polyester, chemical fiber and textile. By the end of 2012, the registered capital of the group company was RMB 1.56 billion Yuan, the total asset was RMB 20.3 billion Yuan, the product sales income in 2012 was 30.1 billion Yuan, 900 million dollars were from exporting of own products, and the volume of production, distribution and export was the first in the same field of trade.

So far, Jiangsu Sanfangxiang Group Co., Ltd. has over 7,000 employees including 960 engineering technicians. As the largest chemical fiber production base in China, the company has imported many advanced production devices for polymerization, spinning, drawing and adhesion increasing from US Dupont, Germany Neumag and Switzerland Bühler, the production capacity of polyester is 2 million ton per year, in which, of Dacron cut fiber is 0.8 million ton per year, and of bottle level chips is 1.2 million ton per year. JADETM PET bottle level chips and SanfangxiangTM chemical fiber have won the honor for China famous brands, and the high heat absorption PET bottle level chips are acknowledged as state level high-tech products.

To extend the industrial chain, enlarge and strengthen the polyester and chemical fiber leading industry, the group is applied to the investment in the upstream industry. In September 2012 with the approval from National Development and Reform Commission, the 600,000 ton/year PTA project with a total investment of 3.3 billion Yuan was successfully put into production.

During the 12th 5-year Program, three new projects, i.e. 1.2 million ton/year EPTA project, 600,000 ton/year ultra denier long thread project, and 300,000 ton/year food level thin membrane project will be established by Sanfangxiang Group to accelerate the progress on the new route led by new industries, construct the centralized, intensive, optimized and sustainable developing structure along the extending chain of PX – PTA (EPTA) – PET – chemical fiber (thin membrane). About 8.1 billion Yuan will be invested in the three large projects totally, and the company plans to realize a total annual production capacity of 5.5 million ton of PTA+PET and an annual sales volume of 60 billion Yuan within 5 years. After the projects are completed and put into production, the major polyester industry of the group will become a world outstanding production base.

In addition to the development of major industry, Sanfangxiang Group will also improve the enterprise core competiveness by improving the technological power via culturing high-tech enterprises to realize the reform of industrial structure. The group plans to set up a high-tech industrial project incubating park with completed facilities and actively imported advanced technologies and devices, realize the industrialization of high technologies, effectively culture new spots for group economic growth, promote the industrial reform, and reinforce the foundation for the high-tech industrial development of the group.
